IPL Photofacial

Photofacial laser treatments use short, low-energy pulses of broadband light to target pigmentation issues on your skin without harming the surrounding tissue. The pigment cells absorb the light and are broken down. Your body will then draw out the damaged and discolored cells that have formed deep in the dermis, resulting in a more even skin tone.

The length of your photofacial laser session can vary depending on the size of the treatment area and your unique treatment plan, but typically takes between 30 to 45 minutes from start to finish. After treatment, clients are free to resume their regular schedule. 

Along with the Harmony®XL laser, we utilize the advanced skin analysis tool, the Visia system, to create a multi-spectrum 3D map of your skin at the surface and below. This map gives us all the information we need to customize a treatment plan specifically for your unique needs. 

IPL Photofacials require little to no downtime, making it a perfect treatment for clients with busy schedules. You can wear makeup shortly after your appointment as long as it is applied and removed gently. Pigmentation spots may become slightly darker for a brief period of time before naturally flaking from the skin. Some minor redness may occur, particularly if your treatment is for broken capillaries, but this is usually minimal and will typically fade within a day. You can place an ice pack on the treatment area to help any swelling or redness fade more quickly.

Immediately after your IPL photofacial, it is required to avoid treatments such as chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, and sun exposure. These can be resumed once your skin heals. If you have any questions regarding downtime with treatment, you can reach out to our team at Rejuve Med-Spa.

Some clients see immediate results from their photofacial treatments, with continued improvement throughout their personalized treatment plan. More commonly, you can expect results after three to six treatments, which we typically schedule three to four weeks apart.

IPL photofacials can help you achieve your aesthetic goals with long-lasting and radiant results. Every client’s skin is unique, but we generally recommend coming back in for treatment every six months after your initial procedure to keep your results fresh. Diligently using medical-grade sunscreen daily can also help maintain the results of your IPL photofacial.

Typically, clients with Fitzpatrick skin types 1-3 who are interested in targeting pigmentation and improving their skin’s overall look are ideal candidates for IPL photofacials. In some cases, an individual with a skin type 4 may qualify for a customized IPL treatment with the utilization of stencils and other determining factors.
