What are the Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing is a popular technique that can remove damaged skin and leave you with a much younger-looking texture. Rejuve Med-Spa calls upon specialist laser technicians to carry out all resurfacing treatments using the latest laser technology.

By removing the uppermost layer of your skin, laser resurfacing can yield many benefits. It is known to be an ideal treatment for anyone that has scarring or marks that stand out on their skin. At Rejuve Med-Spa, you’ll receive professional help and guidance to ensure you make the correct treatment choices for your skin problems.

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

This is a non-invasive treatment that is typically used on your face. It involves using different laser technology to essentially get rid of any marks, scars, or blemishes on your skin. The prices of the laser work depends on what type of laser you choose. Rejuve Med-Spa currently has a selection of different lasers for this type of treatment, including the Harmony XL Laser.

Your treatment is carried out by a professional, and you won’t have to stay overnight. The laser is applied to your face for anywhere between 30-45 minutes, where it breaks down the damaged skin cells. This leaves your face with new skin coming through underneath. In essence, it’s like giving your face a fresh start with a much clearer complexion.

Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing

You will see many benefits when undergoing this treatment. For one, it’s proven to be highly effective at dealing with sun damage. Being in the sun for too long can leave your skin looking much older than it actually is. Laser skin resurfacing gets rid of the sun-damaged skin cells and promotes better healing and collagen production. The result is much smoother and younger-looking skin.

Furthermore, laser skin resurfacing can bring your skin’s natural beauty back to the surface. It also happens to be one of the least invasive options around, meaning you benefit from less downtime following the treatment. This also coincides with fewer risks of complications, which is another advantage.

Am I a Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

At Rejuve Med-Spa, we want all patients to find the right treatment for their needs. We’re happy to say that laser skin resurfacing is suitable for most people. If you have the following ailments, you might be an ideal candidate:

  • Signs of aging
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Acne scarring
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines & wrinkles
  • Pigmentation problems

If you are susceptible to cold sores or fever blisters, this treatment might not be suitable for you as it can trigger breakouts. It’s also well worth noting that you will be unable to take various medications for at least 10 days prior to your appointment – this includes aspirin and ibuprofen. Additionally, if you smoke, you will need to stop for at least two weeks before and after the treatment as it can interfere with the healing process. Other than these minor concerns, laser skin resurfacing is suitable for everyone with the above skin issues.
