How Long Do PRP Treatments Last?
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, comes directly from your own blood and has powerful healing and growth-enhancing properties. It works to treat everything from joint pain to hair loss, and at Rejuve Med-Spa, we offer several ways to harness the power of PRP for your benefit.
How Does PRP Treatment Work?
PRP offers many benefits, but what is platelet-rich plasma, and what does it do? PRP contains your platelets, blood factors that rush to the site of an injury and act as first-line healing and repair. The plasma also contains growth factors and stem cells that enhance healing and stimulate the production of healthy new cells.
How Long Do PRP Treatments Last?
Depending on the type of treatment, PRP usually lasts between nine months and a year, although this may vary. Because PRP comes from your own blood, you will not have a reaction to it, and you can receive PRP treatments on a yearly basis or as needed to keep your results looking good.
What Does PRP Treat?
PRP treatment has been demonstrated as effective in treating muscle, joint, and tendon pain and improving healing. It can also speed recovery after surgery. At Rejuve Med-Spa, we offer PRP treatments primarily for the following concerns:
Hair Loss
PRP makes the scalp healthier, stimulates hair follicles, and makes hair thicker and less prone to breakage. Your remaining hair will look fuller and denser, while stem cells in the PRP encourage the development of active follicles to grow new hair.
Skin Rejuvenation
While it can be used on its own, PRP works best for facial treatment when used with microneedling. Microneedling enhances the absorption of the PRP into deeper layers of the skin, and the PRP speeds up the healing of the microneedling channels. In addition, PRP will enhance the production of collagen and newer, healthier cells that make the skin look more vibrant.
Women’s Health
The O-Shot uses PRP to enhance collagen production and the development of more robust blood flow to improve female sexual health, enjoyment, and function. It can also improve urinary incontinence by increasing the body’s support of the bladder.

Is There Any Downtime with PRP Treatment?
Since PRP comes from your own blood and speeds up healing, you should have no downtime after PRP treatments. You can expect some swelling and soreness in the injection areas for a day or two with hair loss treatments. For microneedling treatments, PRP will also speed up the healing process, limiting redness or sensitivity to only a few days.
What Results Can I Expect From PRP Treatments?
You can expect to see enhanced healing and more rapid cell regeneration, which will reveal itself in healthier-looking, rejuvenated skin and hair. Your hair will appear fuller and thicker, and over time your body will develop new hair follicles. Your skin after microneedling with PRP will appear tighter, firmer, and more lifted with fewer lines and wrinkles.
