Ink on the arms or shoulders is less painful to remove than a tattoo placed on the torso, small of the back, or near the neck. Many patients report the laser energy is similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin, a sensation made more bearable with the topical anesthetic cream, so your tattoo removal is no more painful than having the tattoo done in the first place.
How Long Does Laser Tattoo Removal Take?
That depends on the size, number of colors, depth of ink, and age of your tattoo. Your complete consultation will conclude with a customized treatment plan to best remove your specific tattoo. While some amateur tattoos will only take 2-5 sessions to remove, more sophisticated, deeper tattoos may require 5-15 treatments. Some patients see immediate improvement with one session while others need multiple treatments for visible results.
